Hello! My name is Sarah and I am an artist in Menomonee Falls, WI. I draw animals and people when I’m not working at my day job as a graphic designer or watching little ones at home. I’ve done pet portrait commission work for about a decade and have recently started drawing people – more specifically, missing and murdered individuals – and sending the finished pieces to their families as gifts. I’ve realized with this new hobby I need a place to document this work and to keep the stories of these people alive. This is meant to serve as a place of tribute to the people and animals we love. The portraits of TributeSketches.com are all 8.5×11 inch hand-drawn charcoal drawings. Sending these out to families – who are strangers to me – has been a very emotional and fulfilling project.
If you end up on this website, because I’ve reached out to you through Facebook or by other means saying that I have a drawing I’d like to send to you, now you have some context of who I am and what I’m trying to do – which is essentially spend hours of my time drawing a portrait of your loved one hoping that it will eventually find its home with you. No strings attached. I’m not going to share your address or personal information with anyone. I’m just doing it because it’s a good thing I can do for others to help bring awareness to missing people and to promote healing for the families of those who were taken too soon.
